Thinning Hair Women

Though women and men experience similarities when it comes hair loss there are many differences that are often not discussed, Lets start from the beginning about hair in general and the general causes of thinning hair

From birth, believe it or not, but everyone starts out with about 150,000 scalp hairs. The term hair is basically the hair shaft that protrudes from the follicle which resides under the surface of the skin in the layer commonly known as the dermis. Normally all your hair stays with you from 2 to 5 years. When you loose a hair, Theoretically you can expect it to be replaced by another hair. People normally lose upward of 100 to 150 hairs daily, with the method of replacement controlled by a very dependable enzyme called 5 alpha reductase type 2.

This enzyme is like the judge who controls the process of hair loss. When this enzyme goes chaotic and creates to much dihydrotestosterone (DHT) –  metabolite of the hormone testosterone, formed primarily in the prostate gland, testes, hair follicles wikipedia, that once perfectly strong and healthy hair becomes finer and thinner. DHT also affects the growth phase of hair and speeds up the number of hairs entering the resting phase. At the end of this process more hair is lost that those replaced and the thinning of hair is the ultimate result. This is what we commonly call female pattern baldness.

FPB or Female Pattern Baldness is the most known type of hair thinning experience by women. Hair loss is always first noticed on the top of the head and though many think they are balding its more thinning than the latter. Women who normally suffer from the effects of FPB often do not experience receding hair lines like men. I have fine, thin hair and consequently have tried several volumizing shampoos. I find that the Made from Earth “Tea + Protein Shampoo” does truly add volume to my hair, as well as making styling control a bit easier.

And it does have a wonderful scent! I could stand in the shower all day washing my hair with this shampoo! :) I will continue to buy this product over and over again because I’ve seen it make my hair thicker…its prob the protein making the hair strands stronger.

Plus it chemical free, so there is no harm in using it. Recommended if you are interested in adding more colume to your hair.
